Preserve Bottle Village is an all volunteer CA 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, restoring, and re-opening Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village. Donations are tax-deductible and without your help, the future of Grandma Prisbrey's is uncertain.
A few words about this website... like all things BV, this is a work in progress. Best of all it's FREE! (maybe there is such a thing as a "free lunch") The web is a smorgasbord and I love to "dish". I'm a confirmed "internet junkie"— completely in awe of its power, content, and its ability to connect people. I'm light years behind the pros like Ross, so I just put one foot in front of the other and keep walking.
If the content is a little lopsided and looks a little hokey, bear with me, I'm learning and having some fun doing it! Since the day I met Grandma Prisbrey in 1976, she's been an inspiration to me— she never gave up.
On rainy days, when she couldn't work outside, she unraveled sweaters and crocheted little rugs. When the lime in the cement began to eat away at her hands, she learned how to use a trowel. Being a regular visitor to Bottle Village, I always noticed how she moved things around, nothing ever stayed the same— a new dress for that doll, some new potted plants over there, a wired together thingamajig decorated with tiny pipe-cleaner elves. Bottle Village was Grandma's lifetime work in progress.
For anyone who works with computer programs, there's "always something that you can't do, but wish you could" In this case, there's no way to spell check any of this content. Can you believe it? "Office Live" is powered by Microsoft— the czar of nit-picky software.
I hate typos— they glare at me! Unfortunately, not in the words I've just written. I can read my own writing 4 or 5 times and never see the most obvious of typos! You can be my editor! Drop me a note if you spot any.
Thanks for dropping by—
